Enhancing Collaboration in Digital Economy and E-Commerce: Insights from Consul General Ahmad Phadil Ismail
On 16 December 2024, Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail was interviewed by People’s Daily sharing his insights on digital economy and cross-border e-commerce, at the Chancery.
Given the rapid development of digital economy and e-commerce, the Consul General opined that it is essential for both sides to enhance collaboration in regulations and standards to ensure the proper and efficient transaction of e-commerce business that can benefit both countries.
The Consul General highlighted that e-commerce is also growing fast in Malaysia. Agricultural produce products, such as durian and durian-based products, bird nest and white coffee benefited the most through e-commerce trading in China. Apart from these, it is believed that the halal products from Malaysia also has a market in China through the utilisation of e-commerce market especially in provinces such as Gansu, Shaanxi and Ningxia, he added.
